A thorough moving inspection will save you from the pitfalls of moving, such as incorrect estimates of expense and price. The moving inspection helps you and us as your potential moving company to get a better overview of the total expense of your move. For your moving inspection, you can ask yourself the following questions in advance, for example:

• What furniture and fixtures do I want to take with me to the new home?
• Is there a transport possibility by elevator at the old or at the new place of residence?
• How far is it from the apartment to the entrance or to the location of the moving trucks?
• What services, such as packing, furniture disassembly and assembly, or storage, do I want my moving company to provide?

If you have already clarified these questions for yourself before the appointment, a first big step has already been taken for the moving inspection.

Removal inspection: the most important points

When conducting a relocation inspection, the first step is to determine whether the appointment should take place via a site visit or virtually. Both methods offer advantages: An on-site appointment helps us familiarize ourselves with the circumstances of the move and the surrounding area, while a virtual moving inspection can be organized more spontaneously, saves time and involves less personal contact in Corona times.

Whether the appointment is on-site or digital, go over the most important general data about the removal with your moving company: Date, new residence, possible temporary storage of furniture and other furnishings – any information will help us and you solve the moving puzzle faster and better on the big day. Do you have old or particularly bulky pieces, like a grand piano or wall of cabinets? If the window is large enough, we may even be able to transport them whole with a furniture elevator.

During the moving inspection, go through each room and mention any structural features such as particularly high or low ceilings, narrow spaces or hardwood floors. We will guide you through what we consider to be the most important points and on this basis we will gain our own impression of the moving project.

Removal inspection: the offer

Ideally, the moving inspection should not take longer than 15 to 25 minutes for an apartment, so it even fits into an extended lunch break. Once all open questions have been answered, we will prepare an offer based on the facts gathered. This also includes logistical factors, such as the journey from the old to the new place of residence or to our warehouse and the number of (special) vehicles required.
